Ramallah
Rebecca Kaoud is a Palestinian dancer, improviser and choreographer who started her dance career at a very young age. She began practicing the Ballet at the age of 7. Later, she became a traditional Dabkeh dancer of 10 years of experience and has been dancing with Sarreyet Dance Company since 2008. She performed in six different states in the US. She took part in the dance performance in her previous High School at the age of 16 up until the age of 18, when she graduated. The dance performance was called: "Follow the Light" choreographed by Sharaf Dar Zeid. Ms. Kaoud studied dance and choreography at the National Dance Academy in Rome/Italy in 2019. Currently, she teaches Modern/ Contemporary Dance kid's group at Sarreyet Dance Company. She contributed in many dance-related activities and performances around Palestine, West Bank as well as in Germany, United States, Norway and Italy. She volunteers in the Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival (RCDF), as a dancer and as part of the team. She participated in the Dancing on the Edge Online Masterclass Scholarship in 2020, the program lasted for two weeks. Finally, she took part in the CND Residency program in Paris/ France for two weeks in 2019 under the title: "Residency for Creation, Experimentation and Research". In 2020, she participated in the Oxford’s Christmas Light Festival – Global Film Projects as a choreographer and a dancer. The films were screened in the festival and were later posted online. Her latest performance took place in Ramallah with the title: Transformations by Jumana Duebis, a Palestinian Choreographer.
